The traditional four-day Vidofestival Natures, centered on imagery from the natural world, features video works by authors selected through an open call, newly discovered films by Živko Kladnik, sound and filmmaking equipment, and photographs from films and videos.

The video works presented at the Festival Natures
are based on images of nature,
or else include images of nature in some of their sequences,
or are derived from things found in nature.
Also in the nature of human existence and living,
in the relations between past and present events,
and the responses to them.
The Video Festival Natures is marked by people and their natures.

In the Natures of Nature
The videos featured in the Videofestival Natures lead us into images drawn from nature—into videos built from individual sequences or based on specific elements found in the natural world. They also reflect the nature of human existence and living, the relationships between past and present events, and the commentary arising from them. They respond to what is happening in nature as a result of pollution. They respond to interpersonal relations and events.
The Videofestival Natures is shaped by people and their natures, as well as by nature itself—nature that exists on its own, separate from humankind.
For the second time, the festival presents films by Živko Kladnik—this year films from the 1980s that were rediscovered a few years ago.
Živko Kladnik was born on 11 June 1948 in Novo mesto and lived in Kranj and in Cegelnica. A man of many talents and interests, he was a poet, visual artist, filmmaker, and director of photography. He served as president of the Kranj Football Club (1973–1979) and as secretary of the Naklo Chess Club. He was a member of the film groups KSK (Kino Skupina Kranj) and KKK (Kino Klub Kranj), co-founder of the Kranj-based film group Ime (1970–1976) and of the concrete art group Studio Signum. With Studio Signum, he created numerous projects and exhibitions that reached their peak in the late 1970s and 1980s. He was also co-creator of the international publication WESTEAST, a member of the art collective Jasna, and an organiser and initiator of many cultural events in Kranj. His independent exhibitions—particularly his ready-made collages—continued into 2016. He died on 23 January 2017 in Kranj.

The short animated film New World, New Trace by Žoel Kastelic (2024) has been screened at no fewer than eleven festivals:14th StopTrik IFF, Maribor, 2024; 21st Animateka Festival, Ljubljana, 2024; 27th Festival of Slovenian Film, student competition programme, Portorož, 2024; AGRFT Festival, Ljubljana, 2024; Kurz Klub International Short Film Festival, Audience Award, Radovljica, 2024; Athens Animfest, student competition programme, Athens and online, 2025; Inheritance Film Festival, United Kingdom, 2025; First Frame Film Festival, Leicester, United Kingdom, 2025; Film Freš, Festival Vizije, Nova Gorica, 2025; 6th Triennial of Young Artists, premiere 2025, Centre for Contemporary Arts Celje, 2025; and Animasyros, Syros, Greece, 2025.
