Drawing on modern Ethiopian art and contemporary Ethiopian literature, which will serve as a framework for the interpretation of motifs and themes in Aïda Muluneh's imaginary and work, Aleksandra Gačić's lecture will think more broadly about the socio-political contexts in which art is produced through a range of Ethiopian theorists. In parallel, the lecture will shed light on important aspects of Ethiopian production of knowledge, art and literature.

Take part in a free curator-guided tour of the photography exhibition of contemporary Ethiopian photographer Aïda Muluneh as part of the International Museum Day - ICOM Slovenia. Each of her photographs is carefully designed to provoke reflection and transcend the boundaries of conventional documentary or artistic photography. If you' ll be wandering around the galleries and museums in the morning, you are also welcome to try your hand at creating light paintings between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. The workshop is suitable for visitors of all ages!
