The Japanese artist, who lives in Celje, uses her personal history to develop a multimedia exhibition which shows the intricate unravelling of the threads of love and intimate relationships under the challenging conditions of contemporary consumerism, which most members of the artist's generation face with existential uncertainty and constant lack of time.

This year's Photo Aperitivo will be dedicated to the culture and flavours of the country where photographer Aïda Muluneh is from. Through the literature of contemporary Ethiopian authors translated into Slovenian interpreted by the actor and musician Joseph Nzobandora - Jose and accompanied by the music of percussionist Damir Mazrek we will discover Aïda's native Ethiopia and other African countries. The event will be rounded by the tasting of a traditional Ethiopian snack and the aroma of coffee, which originates from this very country.

In collaboration with the Department of Asian Studies at the Faculty of Arts in Ljubljana, we invite you to a lecture by Dr Marotti, Professor of History and Chair of the East Asian Studies MA IDP Programme at UCLA, titled Seized by Art: Grasping Untimely Art and Politics in the 1960s with Yoshio Nakajima. During the lecture, Dr Marotti will examine the pivotal yet overlooked career of Nakajima and consider the relations of art, politics and violence in the 1960s, as well as the very possibilities of art.
