Presentation of the Izlake-Zagorje Art Colony (SKIZ)
The Izlake-Zagorje Art Colony is the oldest working meeting of painters: since June 1964, when eleven Slovenian painters gathered for the first time in Izlake's Medijske Toplice Spa, it has persisted in the wonderful process of artistic creation. It has not changed much in half a century; thoughtfully founded and well-managed, it has always been highly appreciated among painters, and invitations to it have been gladly accepted by artists from Slovenia and abroad, even beyond Europe.
The colony has so far attracted the attention of more than three hundred artists, and the number of works of art is now close to one thousand. The rich collection is an excellent cross-section of Slovenian post-war painting, and as such a welcome addition to various Slovenian and foreign galleries. Many of the paintings are put on display in many institutions and companies; the colony does not hide its gems in warehouses, but rather allows anyone to brighten up the corridors and offices of their business premises for a symbolic fee. If you are interested in this possibility, please contact us. We will be happy to enrich your palette of colours, and in turn, you will help us to continue the Art Colony’s noble mission.
