SAETA formed in 1977, as the first, and at that time only, group in Slovenia to bring together in its approach organized improvisation, elements of experimental music based on diverse scores, notations, and performance instructions, elements of minimalist (repetitive) music, and live or recorded electroacoustic music of a variety of sound sources. The group has remained faithful to its original approach to this day. Over time, Saeta has become established both at home and abroad, giving concerts in Ljubljana (in the Cankarjev Dom cultural center and as part of the European Month of Culture), in other cities of former Yugoslavia, such as Belgrade (performing at the European Festival of Minimalist Music) and Opatija (at the Music Creativity of Yugoslavia festival), and elsewhere in Europe, e.g. in Paris (at the Biennial of Young Artists) and Graz (at the Steirischer Herbst). In 2002, the group staged the “O-zvočenje 1” event (About-Soundings 1) together with composers from Slovenia, France, and Serbia and Montenegro.

CD: 1997, "SAETA / CONCERT 1979", 2007, "O-zvočenje 4, SAETA Koncert / Concert 2006, 2007, "OKOSTJA",  2009, »Koncert / Concert 2008«, 2011  »Sotočja / Confluences« with Tinkara Kovač.

Wednesday, 23 april 2025, at 7 pm: BOJAN DROBEŽ - Acoustic guitar
Composer and guitarist Bojan Drobež was born in Ljubljana in 1954. First performing as a guitarist and singer for a number of years, Drobež subsequently turned to composing for and playing the acoustic guitar. Although he never made a professional career in it, he has remained active as a guitarist (with varying degrees of intensity) to this day. His public performances are few and far between. He made his first recordings for Radio Študent in the early 1970s. These were followed through the 1970s by a few compositions recorded (in various line-ups, but mostly with his band Orehek) for the Radio and television network RTV Ljubljana, for which he also made the music for the film Deček z miškami (Boy with Mice), written by Željko Kozinc and directed by Marjan Ciglič. In 1981, RTB in Belgrade released his album Bojan Drobež (LP), which is considered the first (and for many years the only) fingerpicking record in the former Yugoslavia. It was followed by two other instrumental albums: Krog na vodi/Ripple (RTB, 1986, LP) and Odprto morje /Open Sea (Sraka, Novo mesto, 1993, CD).
In January 2024, one of the largest online radio stations in the world, NTS from London, released a double compilation album entitled 'European primitive guitar (1974-1987)', which aimed to show the influence of a genre of guitar playing called 'American primitive guitar'.
