Visitors will also discover the story of the former airport hangar, now transformed into a modern archaeological centre. The exhibition highlights the process of establishing the centre, as well as the challenges involved in relocating, organising and ensuring the long-term preservation of extensive archaeological material, which today represents an important part of the cultural heritage of Ljubljana and its wider surroundings.

The exhibition raises questions about the significance of heritage, the ethics of handling human remains and the role of archaeology in contemporary society. It shows that every object — even the smallest fragment — carries a story that helps us understand the time before us.

The work of the centre is also brought closer to visitors through open days, when the public can experience the spaces first-hand and gain a sense of the centre’s work.
