This Thursday, the exhibition To Decide Where the Shadow Falls will be accompanied by a two-part event.

The first part will be a conversation between the curator Eva Simonič and the artist Bart Lunenburg, which will shed some light on Bart Lunenburg's artistic practice, some of his past projects and his approach to exploring Plečnik's legacy, which has resulted in the current exhibition.

"Plečnik was an architect who dared − and was allowed − to think on this scale, and who was aware of all possible visual instruments that could make his Gesamtkunstwerk Ljubljana possible. The exhibition To Decide Where the Shadow Falls attempts to tell something about an architect’s influence on the urban identity, based on Plečnik’s relationship to ecological elements, the beehive in his garden, and various trees in the city of Ljubljana," wrote Lunenburg in the essay accompanying the exhibition.

The second part of the event will be dedicated to the presentation of The Artist collective, consisting of Bart Lunenburg, Annabelle Binnerts and Caz Egelie, and to the presentation of the artistic intervention they have prepared specifically for the occasion of the presentation at the Plečnik House.

The exhibition is a collaboration with RAVNIKAR, a contemporary visual arts gallery, and with the support of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Slovenia and the Dutch foundation Mondriaan Fund for visual arts and cultural heritage.

The event is free of charge.
Due to limited space in the house, please book your place at the event at prijava@mgml.si or 01 24 12 506 (Mon-Fri, 8:00-14:00).
