Summer at the Plečnik House: This July and August you can also visit us on Mondays
During the summer months of July and August, the Plečnik House will switch to its summer opening hours. This means that we will be also welcoming visitors on Mondays! We invite you to the house in which Plečnik's Ljubljana was created!
In July and August, it is thus possible to visit the Plečnik House every day of the week, between 10 a.m. and 6. p.m., during which you can see:
- permanent exhibition Plečnik., which highlights the architect’s large and small, realised and unrealised architectural projects. It also presents original objects, models, sketches, and plans, and gives insight into Plečnik’s private life;
- temporary exhibition Plečnik as Inspiration, which, through the works of students at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Engineering, University of Ljubljana, presents Plečnik’s work as an inexhaustible source of inspiration for younger generations of artists;
- the authentically preserved Plečnik’s home, which visitors can visit only with a guided tour. Tours are limited to 7 persons (visits without a tour are not possible), and are done every hour on the hour. Last one of the day starts at 5 p.m. (reservations are not possible).
Visiting the Plečnik House is also an opportunity to stop in our museum shop and treat yourself to something memorable: from books on Plečnik’s architecture to original products of Slovenian designers that were inspired by Plečnik’s work.
We are also inviting you to visit Plečnik’s garden behind the house, where the Library under the Treetops is waiting for you, in the shadows of the garden’s magnificent trees.
See you this summer at the Plečnik House!
