Archaeological Heritage in Urban Space
Archaeological research of Gosposvetska cesta, Slovenska cesta, Prešernova cesta, Erjavčeva cesta, Tribuna, Križanke, Dalmatinova ulica, Vegova ulica (KGBL) and the area of the University of Ljubljana.
In recent years, numerous preventive archaeological excavations have been executed in Ljubljana as part of the renovation of the City of Ljubljana urban infrastructure, having been performed and supervised by the Museum and Galleries of Ljubljana and their colleagues. The number of locations and intensity of work have particularly increased in the past two years.
Accelerated renovation, work in an urban setting, and significant additions to the archaeological record contributing a wealth of exciting data to the archaeological image of Ljubljana are the central topics of this exhibition.
This exhibition supplements other archaeological exhibitions from the Treasury of the City Museum of Ljubljana. When visiting, make sure you also see The Transparent Blue Glass Bowl.
