Of time and stone
In Roman Emona and Baroque Ljubljana/Laibach
The study of stones from the periods of ancient art and architecture and the Baroque.
The exhibition will provide insight into the rarely discussed question of which types of stone were used by creators for selected artworks and architectural projects. With a focus on Roman Emona, the exhibition aligns with an important international congress of the Association for the Study of Marble and Other Stones in Antiquity (ASMOSIA), which will take place in Ljubljana in September 2025. At the same time, it is part of a series of exhibitions and events that will, throughout 2025, showcase Slovenian Baroque in various institutions and venues.
