In her creative pratice Neža Knez uses various media, such as audio, video, photography, drawing and performance. She graduated in Sculpture and received her masters diploma at the Academy of Fine Arts (ALUO) and Design. Through the event or interventions in urban spaces, she is questioning the social, economic, and political aspects of our society.
She is interested is in the research of perceptions with different senses, playing with visibility and invisibility. Focus of her research are everyday things, which are so close to us that they often seem to be overlooked.
She has received several awards: UL ALUO Recognition (2012) and UL ALUO Award (2014) for exceptional student achievements, the award for an innovative approach to graphic arts (2015), the Prešeren Student Award of the University of Ljubljana (2015) and the OHO Group Award (2018). For her thesis, she received the highest recognition Summa Cum Laude (2017). In 2017 she participated in the Young Artists Biennale Tirana. She was the recipient of a two-year residency for young artists in the Residency Unlimited, New York and now she is a participant of WHW Academy in Zagreb.
