Museum of Contemporary Art Belgrade is currently displaying "Upside Down: Hosting the Critique"
"Upside Down: Hosting the Critique" will be on display at the Museum of Contemporary Art Belgrade from 24 June to 25 July. The exhibition was conceptualised on the basis of Inside Out, a long-term research and curatorial project that began in 2014 by Alenka Gregorič and Suzana Milevska, curator of the first exhibition of the project, titled Inside Out - Not So White Cube. That exhibition was hosted at the City Art Gallery of Ljubljana/MGML between 24 September and 22 November 2015.
"Upside Down: Hosting the Critique" is a co-curatorial interdisciplinary exhibition which focuses on the transformation of the role(s) of museums, galleries and other public institutions in the production, presentation and collection of contemporary art in periods of transition and the part played by artists and independent artist-run spaces in these activities.
