After completing his undergraduate studies, he obtained the title Master of Art History in 1997. Since 1992, he has served as contemporary art curator at the City Art Gallery Ljubljana, which enabled him to forge contacts with many creators and their works, as well as spurred his desire to delve into more intense research on exhibition design, exhibition strategy or, more specifically, the visualization and ambientalization of exhibitions in Slovenia.

The subject of his PhD dissertation at the Academy of Fine Arts, the Department of Design, was “Art Exhibitions as Complete Visual Organisms in Slovenian Galleries from 1945 to 2000. In 2006, he organized the exhibition Visual Address. Art Exhibition Design in the 20th-Century Slovenia. He is also devoted to photography and research on its importance within the wider visual art, as well as to research on contemporary art projects in connection with spatial installations, stated a member of the expert jury, Boris Gorupič. Other members of the expert jury were Alenka Trebušak and Milček Komelj (president).
