Admission for the 18th Generation of the World of Art School
The World of Art, School for Curatorial Practices and Critical Writing is admitting the 18th generation. We invite anyone that is interested in working in contemporary visual arts and would like to learn about curatorial work through theoretical and practical modules to apply regardless of their experience, age or education.
The World of Art School was established in 1996 and is the oldest educational programme in the field of curatorial practices in Slovenia. The two-year programme includes lectures, workshops and practical and field work. The participants gain diverse knowledge about the art system and funding mechanisms, obtain basic information about online communication, marketing and management, meet artists and experts in the field, get an insight into the critical and theoretical apparatus and gain practical experience while conceiving exhibitions. More than thirty co-workers cooperate in the programme. The training will conclude with the preparation of an exhibition under the mentorship of Alenka Gregorič and Vadim Fiškin.
The World of Art programme was conceived in partnership with Cukrarna/Museum and Galleries of Ljubljana and will be carried out between January 2021 and June 2022. The training is distinctly practically oriented and will be connected with the concurrent content at Cukrarna.
