Plečnik and water: first guided tour with curator Ana Porok
You are invited to join the first guided tour of the exhibition Plečnik and water: fountains in the city with the author of the exhibition, Ana Porok. The tour begins this Wednesday 25 October at 5 p.m., at the Plečnik House.
Curator Ana Porok highlighted, “Plečnik saw water as a suitable complementation of his architecture. Fountains can convey many symbolic messages, signifying a source of life, of regeneration, knowledge, wisdom, a means of purification, a symbol of abundance and mystery… Plečnik thus knew how to adapt their forms to a variety of requirements and the places where they were sited. Many of his original ideas for fountains, and later for monuments incorporating water, remained unrealised, which is also shown by the sketches at the exhibition.”
