Plečnik at Yale: Slovenian Architecture Inspires Students in the United States
Over the past few months, architecture students at the prestigious Yale University in the United States have been exploring the work of Jože Plečnik in Ljubljana and have created the exhibition Pre–Mo–Po–Mo: Micro-Urbanism in Jože Plečnik’s Ljubljana.
The research and preparation of the exhibition also involved Ana Porok, curator at Plečnik House, who provided the students with numerous material from our collection, ranging from sketches and plans to archival photographs.
One of the exhibition’s authors, student Priscilla Yin Barker, shared her impressions with us:
“Thank you so much for all your help! It was a pleasure to present Plečnik’s work at our school and to see how people responded to it.”
The curator added:
“We were delighted to provide the students with materials from our collections. We are especially pleased that they explored Plečnik’s work in such depth and presented it in such a thoughtful way.”
The exhibition is a wonderful example of how Plečnik’s legacy continues to inspire new generations and opens up space for fresh interpretations in an international context.
