Guided tour of the Ripples exhibition with the curator
Ljubljana Art Weekend
As part of the Ljubljana Art Weekend you are invited to join us at a guided tour in english of the Ripples: A Visual Diary of Water exhibition with Julija Hoda, curator at Jakopič Gallery. The display, created in collaboration with the renowned Dutch photography agency NOOR Images, follows the path of water under the themes: Origins; Rituals; Resources; Conflict; Migrations; Extremes; Human Body and Joy.
The Ripples: A Visual Diary of Water exhibition is unique in that it has been put together using materials that have accumulated over 15 years in the Jakopič Gallery and with the Ripples project we are also opening our doors to a wide network of collaborators in the accompanying programme.
Ripples embody the idea of a chain reaction. It suggests that small actions and events can have far-reaching consequences that spread out like ripples in a pond, touching lives and impacting societies across generations.
The exhibition project Ripples casts out deeper, nuanced, transnational connections between the world through the overarching theme of water to explore global issues of the climate crisis, human life and social inequality. It offers a unique curated collection from NOOR’s immense visual archive, made by Stefano Carini and dr. Marija Skočir.
The Ripples Diary is also being written and you can read more about our project on the link below:
