Exclusive tour with the curator Julija Hoda for the participants of LJUBAW 2026

As part of Ljubljana Art Weekend 2026 an exclusive behind-the-scenes preview in English of the Rob Hornstra: Ordinary People exhibition setup will take place on Saturday, May 23 2026 at 4.30 p.m. for the participants of the art initiative.

At the Jakopič Gallery we are currently setting up the exhibition Ordinary People by Dutch photographer Rob Hornstra. He focuses on long-term documentary and socially engaged projects as a portrait photographer, seeking iconic images that can serve as symbols of the moment or place in which the photograph was taken.

The exhibition is a collaboration with Fotomuseum Den Haag but also includes several recent works shot in Slovenia from the Europeans series, which the photographer is developing with the writer Arnold van Bruggen.

It will open to the public on Wednesday, 27 May 2026. At 6 p.m., we will host a conversation between Hornstra and the curator Julija Hoda, and at 7 p.m. the exhibition will be inaugurated by H. E. Janneke Vrijland, Dutch ambassador to Slovenia.
