Analogue Magic
introduction to darkroom work
At the Jakopič Gallery we will learn the analogue magic of darkroom printing. Joining us will be Tihomir Pinter, a master of black-and-white analogue photography.
After a presentation of the necessary steps in the darkroom, participants in the workshop will, under the watchful eyes of master photographer Tihomir Pinter and photographer Matevž Paternoster, try their own hand in developing photographs. Everyone can bring their own black-and-white negatives to the workshop.

The event will be held in the frame of the Tihomir Pinter: The Chemistry of the Image retrospective exhibition. Tihomir Pinter created his entire photographic oeuvre using only natural light, i.e. without the use of either flash or artificial light. He developed all his photographs in his own darkroom, using the gelatin silver process, and his many series of black and white analogue photographs are therefore testament to the artist`s fine craftsmanship and mastery. They reflect a creator aspiring to the precision of artistic expression.
