Maurizio Barberis
A piece of Plečnik’s oeuvre through the photographic lenses and the auteur view of a renowned Italian photographer.
Italian photographer Maurizio Barberis, an architect by education, dedicated his photography to the exploration of the tangencies between the sensible world (forms), the world of primary perception (dreams), and the world of symbolic affirmations (myths). The architecture of Jože Plečnik has attracted his attention in the past years, and his auteur photographs and Barberis’ contemporary artistic view of Plečnik’s creations in Ljubljana will be presented at the exhibition, which will connect two co-production partners: the Plečnik House and the Italian Cultural Institute in Ljubljana.

News
A few days ago, Italian photographer Maurizio Barberis, who exhibited his series of original photographs inspired by Plečnik's architecture here in the spring, visited the Plečnik House. During his visit, he delighted us with an exceptional gift: he donated two of his photographs from the exhibited series to the Plečnik House collection. We sincerely thank him for this generous gesture!
Today, Carlo Campanile, the Ambassador of Italy, spent some time at the Plečnik House with his spouse. Accompanied by Blaž Peršin, Director of the Museum and Galleries of Ljubljana, and Ana Porok, Curator of the Plečnik Hose, they enjoyed a visit to the residence of our greatest architect as well as the temporary exhibition of the Italian photographer, philosopher, and architect Maurizio Barberis.
