Artist-in-residence centre hosts Ivan Moudov
Ivan Moudov (1975, Sofia) has completed his studies at the National Academy of Arts in Sofia in 2002 and soon became one of the most notable artists of his generation.
He has presented his work in numerous solo and group exhibitions, at Cabaret Voltaire (Zurich), Moderna Museet (Stockholm), the 52nd Venice Biennial, the 1st Moscow Biennial and Kunsthalle Wien (Vienna) and Manifesta 4 (Frankfurt) among others. Moudov’s filed of practice comprises photography, video, performance and installation. His works, which bear significant metaphorical charge, explore issues of artistic production within the systems of power, sociopolitical and economic conditions and by subverting the established norms or conventions reveal their mechanisms of regulation.
