The cycle was first conceived by the P.A.R.A.S.I.T.E. Institute in 2003 in order to support independent research and creative composition in the field of sound art, predominantly those forms which are rarely included in Slovenian programme offerings. Sound Explicit presents many premieres as well as one-off events or collaborations among musicians that are put together only once in the frame of the cycle.
