Plečnik and Prague Castle: Apartment for the First President of Czechoslovakia

Spring in the Plečnik House is in the sign of our collaboration with the Archives of Prague Castle. The final product of this collaboration, the exhibition Plečnik and Prague Castle, focuses on Plečnik’s designs for the rearrangement and equipment of the private presidential areas in the Prague Castle, and on important personal connections Plečnik had with Masaryk and his daughter Alice.

Plečnik's Ljubljana

The exhibition Plečnik’s Ljubljana is a collaboration between the Museum and Galleries of Ljubljana (MGML) and the Museum of Architecture and Design (MAO), created by an initiative of the Slovenian Ministry of Culture. Part of the Plečnik Year 2017, the exhibition will present the maestro’s architecture across European cities. Its first stop, from 7 March to 27 April, is the Spanish capital of Madrid.

Plečnik on Brioni

The first of the four temporary exhibitions at the Plečnik House in 2017 is opening on Friday 20 January, at 1.00 pm. The exhibition titled Plečnik on Brioni will display the hitherto unpublished photographs of the architect during his visits of the Brioni while his last completed project, the garden pavilion, was being constructed. The exhibition is a collaboration with the National and University Library.

With original plans, a short film and texts, the exhibition Plečnik and the river: reconstruction of Ljubljana’s embankments and bridges presents the story of Plečnik’s regulations in Ljubljana’s urban centre – the embankments of Gradaščica and Ljubljanica.
