The exhibition is part of an interdisciplinary project of students from the Department of Textiles, Graphic Arts, and Design at the Faculty of Natural Science and Engineering, a collaboration of the KIGT and KOTO (Chair of Information and Graphic Arts Technology and the Chair of Textile and Fashion Design) and the Plečnik House.
Plečnik's National and University Library

On 29 January 1944, an airplane crashed into the National and University Library (NUK) in Ljubljana, and badly damaged Plečnik’s just completed "pride of Ljubljana". The 75th anniversary of this disastrous event is commemorated at the Plečnik House with an exhibition, made in collaboration with the National and University Library.

On the basis of original written records, sketches and correspondences, as well as completed projects at home and abroad, the Plečnik and the Sacred exhibition will strive to present Plečnik's idea of what is sacred. Plečnik's concept of "sacred" is not only linked with his religious beliefs, as it also encompasses ideas of morality, rectitude, righteousness and, after all, architecture itself.

Plečnik House to be presented in Prague! The Study and Documentation Centre Nobretov in Prague will be hosting an exhibition on the importance and renovation of Plečnik House, a tribute to the memory of the Slovenian architect Jože Plečnik.

The exhibition project How to Draw a City? connects two exhibition sites: Plečnik House and Kresija Gallery. The common denominator of both exhibition spaces is Ljubica Čehovin - Suna, a designer whose projects constantly address questions of cultural and natural heritage, values, patriotism, and identity.

Jože Plečnik and Otto Rothmayer, a Slovenian and a Czech architect, collaborated closely in the renovation of Prague Castle, during which time a friendship formed between the two.

The exhibition Plečnik on Brioni is on view at the Croatian Museum of Architecture - HAZU from 18 October until 30 November 2017. The exhibition, which is complemented by an overview of projects Plečnik completed or at least planned in Croatia, is part of the Plečnik Year 2017 and a collaboration of the National and University Library of Slovenia and the Plečnik House.

Summer in the Plečnik House is offering you an exhibition titled simply JOŽE. A collaboration of the DobraVaga Gallery and Plečnik House, the exhibition presents the newest production by younger artists, whose artworks focus on their intimate perception of the Slovenian architect.

During this summer, the Jakopič Promenade, also known as the Plečnik Promenade, in Ljubljana's Tivoli Park will be the venue for one of the main exhibitions dedicated to architect Jože Plečnik. The photographic exhibition Ljubljana, a City with Plečnik’s Signature will be on view from 15 June to 3 September 2017.

Spring in the Plečnik House is in the sign of our collaboration with the Archives of Prague Castle. The final product of this collaboration, the exhibition Plečnik and Prague Castle, focuses on Plečnik’s designs for the rearrangement and equipment of the private presidential areas in the Prague Castle, and on important personal connections Plečnik had with Masaryk and his daughter Alice.

The exhibition Plečnik’s Ljubljana is a collaboration between the Museum and Galleries of Ljubljana (MGML) and the Museum of Architecture and Design (MAO), created by an initiative of the Slovenian Ministry of Culture. Part of the Plečnik Year 2017, the exhibition will present the maestro’s architecture across European cities. Its first stop, from 7 March to 27 April, is the Spanish capital of Madrid.

The first of the four temporary exhibitions at the Plečnik House in 2017 is opening on Friday 20 January, at 1.00 pm. The exhibition titled Plečnik on Brioni will display the hitherto unpublished photographs of the architect during his visits of the Brioni while his last completed project, the garden pavilion, was being constructed. The exhibition is a collaboration with the National and University Library.
