It is generally acknowledged that comics are a product of the 20th century. Their strength lies in the combination of the visual and the verbal, even though the visual tends to predominate and there are comics that contain no text. In Slovenia, the author is extremely visible; comics showcase individual artists and are often a penetrating artistic expression of the times, society, and culture.

The new program guidelines of the City Art Gallery Ljubljana, redefined last year, provide for a number of different headings under which the annual program exhibition projects can be subsumed. An important segment of the gallery program has always been exhibitions focusing on the town of Ljubljana, but now the angle has shifted slightly.

Exhibitions in the City Art Gallery Ljubljana, Tobacco 001 Cultural Centre and Match Gallery are Fabre’s great exhibition comeback. With The Borrowed Time, Umbraculum, The Carnival Of The Dead Street Dogs, and The Catacombs Of The Dead Street Dogs he is represented in retrospective and with recent works.

This exhibition provides a multilayered view of the artistic production of the featured artists and the role, or perhaps simply a visual reflection, of their friendship with the two key protagonists, Dora Stiefelmeier and Mario Pieroni.

The heterogeneity of Lenárdič’s art – between the media of painting, object, drawing, sound, and video – points to the characteristic mobility and flexibility which direct perception.

The exhibition of selected works by 24 artists and artist groups as well as objects and documents from four Slovenian museums reveal the 38 phrases.

Exhibition (1998–2010) of Chinese-Slovenian artist presents her best works from numerous series over last 12 years. She lives the Asian-European experience in her own way, as a sensitive creator, that unites ontological experiences in art and culture of the Western and the Eastern traditions.
