Jiři Bezlaj
28. 11. 2019–19. 1. 2020
It was the first time I took a thorough look at it, it was lying on the river bank and shimmering unusually, it was a sunny day and the clear sky was above us, a blue sky spread over the stone and me, the air was clear, sharp and cool and I, the sculptor, I gazed at it for a long time, not wanting to look away, I did not move, not for a millimetre did l move my feet, I stood upright, stood still in the place and kept my eyes down, on it, on the stone I was looking, the stone which was lying quietly there on the shore and waiting.

After the Canal there was only "our" world
19. 9. 2019–10. 11. 2019
Artists presented at the exhibition: Ibrahim Ahmed, Amado Alfadni, Meriç Algün, Pavel Brăila, Chto delat?, Shatha Al-Deghady, Marianne Fahmy, Iulia Toma. “The sea is walking in the streets”, wrote Mahmoud Darwish in 1982, in his Memory for Forgetfulness, during an actual siege replete with cuts of the water supply to the city and rocket fire trails. Yet in more recent years “Europe under siege” has become a curiously common phrase describing a landlocked imaginary full of fears, not so much of the underground streams gushing forth from the darkness beneath, but of the external seas walking on European streets and the threat of aberrant fires.

Marjan Gumilar
4. 4. 2019–2. 6. 2019
Rather than a classic retrospective overview, this exhibition of Marjan Gumilar’s painting thematically revolves around one of the main recurring and constitutive elements in his art, a correlate in the process of constructing the pictorial field – the cut as the functional prerequisite of montage in various positions and pictorial relations, initially a part of his early collages and a method of work in his recent visualizations.

Iztok Sitar
30. 1. 2019–24. 3. 2019
Reality knows no tranquility. A work of art either moves toward presenting reality or away from it in order to forge its own parallel reality: like any visual work of art, the comic lies within these principles of presenting any reality.

Drago Tršar

Academic sculptor and academician Drago Tršar has for many decades marked the Slovenian artistic space with a great creative energy and author's recognizable artistic language. He represents one of the prime sculptural authorities in our cultural space and his extensive scope of work of various series, cycles and individual works, both public (he signed his name under many important public sculptures) and private sculptures, deserves a comprehensive presentational exhibition in the largest and most important Slovenian gallery spaces.

Artists presented at the exhibition: Suzana Brborović, Špela Čadež, Olja Grubić, Duša Jesih, Simona Semenič & Nada Žgank, Maja Smrekar. Following last year’s group exhibition of male painters, provocatively entitled "Better Doggy Style Than No Style", staging a show featuring an all-female selection was a must this year, in part also due to last year’s polemics a propos the not yet eradicated discrimination against women in society, and therefore in art and culture.

Tugo Šušnik
30. 11. 2017–21. 1. 2018
Tugo Šušnik, so it seems, could not have defined his forty-four years of artistic activity in the public eye in a more radical manner and with more self-irony than he did by means of the metaphorical title he selected for his overview exhibition, which is personified by the famous character of Quasimodo from the novel Notre-Dame de Paris by Victor Hugo.
