Guided tour of the " Vision 20/20: Community" exhibition
We invite you to join us at the regularly scheduled guided tour of the exhibition of contemporary Indonesian engaged photography on Saturday.
Vision 20/20 does not only reflect the ophthalmic phenomenon of perfect sight, but also reminds us that a photographer’s keen eye through the lens can be a unique vision on the future of our global society. 27 photographers with their individual projects and own visions of the Indonesian society and social interaction in this country, which we too often only comprehend through a simplified frame of general stereotypes, represent the geographic vastness of Indonesia. They originate from every part of the archipelago extending over three time zones – from the westernmost province of Aceh to Papua on its eastern border. Specific Indonesian communities, whose stories are narrated by photographers that were engaged and involved with the community, often reflect our own challenges, which are far from being exotic and so characteristic for the contemporary global society and its dynamics.
During your visit, we ask you to please observe the COVID-19 gallery guidelines.
