Jakopič Gallery

Being one of the central MGML galleries, the Jakopič Gallery is part of the vital developments in the field of contemporary art practices in the Slovenian capital and elsewhere. Its projects cover manifold fields within the visual as well as performance and multimedia art spectre. In the past decade, the gallery has been focusing on presenting globally acclaimed photographers (Roger Ballen, Lee Miller, Josef Koudelka and other Magnum photographers, Sebastião Salgado). Additional emphasis has been on thorough and retrospective exhibitions by renowned Slovenian photographers (Marko Modic, Damjan Gale, Tihomir Pinter, et al.), featuring their extensive, often lifelong oeuvres that had previously not been treated expertly as a whole.
