Dr Marija Skočir at the Photo Folio Review of Les Rencontres d'Arles

Since 2006, the Photo Folio Review in Arles has offered portfolio readings to professional photographers, students of photography at art schools and experienced amateur photographers from all over the world. Last year, 162 international photography professionals took part in the event, meeting more than 300 photographers from around 30 countries.

This year, Dr Marija Skočir is one of them. The head and curator of the Jakopič Gallery has participated in photography portfolio evaluations several times, most recently as part of the Kranj Foto Fest in 2022. To date, she has curated over 30 exhibitions at the Jakopič Gallery and other venues, mostly in the field of photography. She has managed more than 80 exhibitions, cultural projects, educational programmes and events, and has (co)authored and edited numerous photographic monographies.

To be considered for a portfolio at the Arles festival, applications must be submitted online between 16 May (from 7 p.m. onwards) and 16 June 2024. Meetings will be held during the opening week of the festival, from 1 to 5 July 2024.
