In Frankfurt the exhibition PARADISE, PERFORMANCE, REPLICA. SLOVENIAN PHOTOGRAPHIC ART
As part of the programme of Slovenia as the guest of honour at the Frankfurt International Book Fair, the exhibition PARADISE, PERFORMANCE, REPLICA. SLOVENIAN PHOTOGRAPHIC ART will open at the Fotografie Forum Frankfurt on Friday, 6 October 2023, at 7 p.m., featuring the work of Slovenian photographers Vanja Bućan, Jošto Dolinšek and Bojan Radovič.
In her series “Birds of Paradise”, Vanja Bućan (1973, Novo Gorica) dissects traditional roles of women with humorous surrealism. Jošt Dolinšek (1997, Ljubljana) questions the visual perception of nature, with images, sound and photographic installations. With the ideas of replicas and illusions in his works Bojan Radovič (1960, Novo Mesto) offers a character of narrative and fiction.
Radovič's exhibition Replica, curated by Dr Marija Skočir, was on view at the Jakopič Gallery from October 2022 until the end of January this year. It was accompanied by a comprehensive monograph and a numbered and signed observation game Marumage by Bojan Radovič.
The exhibition PARADISE, PERFORMANCE, REPLICA. from the programme Slovenia as Guest of Honour at the Frankfurt Book Fair 2023, was curated by Celina Lunsford in collaboration with co-curator Andrea Horvay.
