Rob Hornstra: Kjer ogenj tli / Where the Fire Slumbers
The exhibition of the Dutch photographer Rob Hornstra Ordinary People is accompanied by a special Slovenian-English publication Kjer ogenj tli / Where the Fire Slumbers, published by Museum and Galleries of Ljubljana (MGML). It's dedicated to a selection of photographs premiered at the Jakopič Gallery, which Hornstra created in Slovenia—specifically in the regions of Carinthia and Styria —in early 2026 as part of his Europeans (2020–2030) series.
The photographer is developing the series Europeans in collaboration with the writer Arnold van Bruggen, with whom he also co-authored the texts included in the publication. The production of the work was financially supported by the Mondriaan Fund.
