The Match Gallery is starting 2019 with a bow to Kočevje
This year's Match Gallery programme will begin with the third exhibition in the series, titled "Ljubljana Bows to Slovenia", which features a group of artists whose life or work has been tied to Kočevje: Tina Đenadić, Mina Fina, Nataša Gašparac, Marko Glavač, Dora Gorše, Aleš Gregorič, Pavel Gregorič, Tomaž Gregorič, Sašo Koprivec, Polonca Lovšin, Lela B. Njatin, Vito Oražem, Urška Pečnik, Kočevje Musicians' Association.
In March, we will present the story of the online flash game Line Rider, by which Boštjan Čadež - Fšk created a global phenomenon, which has inspired numerous programmers and artists. May and June will be, as is tradition, illuminated by the Lighting Guerrilla festival, which this year focuses on borders. In the second half of the year, we are hosting Kentucky-born artist Brad Downey, who has recently been exploring the Slovenian roots of the US first lady, Berlin-based artist Sinta Werner, who in her artistic practice uses the architectural elements present in the space, and Japanese artist Saeborg, who creates inflatable latex rubber suits for imagined characters, which she sets in dreamlike rubber lands.
