"Magnum’s First: The Face of Time" is the very first group exhibition of Magnum Photos which is considered a photographic myth of the 20th century, time and again inspiring new generations of photographers.

The exhibition provides an insight into a series of Sedlaček's art projects from the past ten years, in which special attention was paid to various innovative and alternative forms of activity, with an emphasis on recycling practices.

The presentation of 59 black-and-white large-size photographs follows a gallery arrangement which moves away from a chronological and, to a large extent, contextual arrangement, whilst at the same time mainly emphasising the aesthetic author-oriented aspect of these outstanding portrait, concert and documentary photographs taken in the two decades preceding the turn of the millennium.

Jakopič Gallery is hosting in collaboration with Wolfova V an exclusive "Maison Martin Margiela: Spring-Summer/Fall Winter" exhibition. The exhibition is showcasing the "défilé" collections of the fashion house named after Belgium designer from the period between the years of 1989 and 2011.

The art event – the central theme of the 29th Biennial of Graphic Arts in Ljubljana – experienced a remarkable development in the twentieth century and today appears as a privileged medium. It is employed as a medium by a broad range of various figures from the contemporary art world in a broad spectrum of different forms.  

Academy of Visual Arts Ljubljana is pleased to present the first exhibition by it graduating students at Jakopič Gallery. The exhibition presents works by AVA final year students from its two courses – Conceptualisation of Space and Fine Art.

ADC – Art Directors Club is a not-for-profit membership organisation, established in New York in 1920, which holds competitions for the best design and advertising solutions. Last year's 89th ADC exhibition is held in Slovenia for the second time, along with the 8th ADC Young Guns exhibition.  

The exhibition of 16 projects completed by the Ravnikar Potokar architectural office is dedicated to the architect Vojteh Ravnikar (1943–2010), one of the main protagonists of Slovenian architecture in the past 30 years.

The photographer Lee Miller (1907–1977) began her career as a muse and a collaborator of the Surrealist photographer Man Ray in Paris. Her photographs have earned her a key place in the history of art. "Legendary  Lee Miller", the retrospective exhibition of 96 Lee's original photographs presents the chronological overwiev of her artistic developement.

The exhibition tries to explore issues of context, connotation, and representation in reference to themes surrounding the German Pavilion.

The Jakopič Gallery, one of the venues of the "Blind Date Convention", the 1st International Festival of Artist’s Books and Artist Publications, presents Italian artist Pino Poggi. The Gallery also hosts the "Ljubljana Artist's Book Fair 2010".

Sculpture has always been a focus of creative, human, existential expression in the cultures of smaller and larger nations; at least to the extent at which it surpasses other art forms. Sculpture is an art form which most openly confronts the international scene’s criteria of value.

Coinciding with the 90th Anniversary of the founding of the Bauhaus, we are presenting the international traveling exhibition "Bauhaus twenty-21".

Marko Jakše is presenting more than 40 works created during his residence at The Art Vault (Mildura, Australia) from 20 April to 20 June 2009. 

The Jakopič Gallery, in coproduction with the State Corporation for Spanish Cultural Action Abroad (SEACEX) and the support of the Embassy of Spain in Slovenia, presents an overview of Antoni Clavé’s works selected from private collections especially for this exhibition.

The exhibition "Theatrical Objects", in which Matej Filipčič captures and audio-visually materializes and reinterprets the memories of his six authorial theatre performances using select and thought-through spatial arrangements and set interiors, represents the first retrospective of his recognizable stage creation since 2000, now in the context of visual arts and before a gallery audience.

"Fundus WU ST" is a dance-theatre performance in which the space is taken by forty five museum items from the repository of the City Museum of Ljubljana and twenty contemporary artworks. The installation functions both as a museum exhibition and a scenographic performance.

The Biennial’s central exhibition "The Matrix: An Unstable Reality" offers a selection of more than eighty internationally established and emerging artists. Their work extends from traditional and contemporary printmaking to artist’s books and interventions in the public space, in the mass media, and on computers.

Exhibition of the best works by students from 1st and 2nd year of the Academy of Visual Arts in Ljubljana (Fine Arts and Conceptualization of Space programs), at the end of the academic year.
