Lighting Guerrilla: Movement

Lighting Guerrilla is turning on the lights in different public spaces for the sixth consecutive year already. Parks, streets, galleries and cultural centers for a few weeks yearly beat to the rhythm of lights of this festival, which is every time dedicated to a certain topic. This year it revolves around Movement.

The OHO Award was established in 2005 by the P.A.R.A.S.I.T.E. Institute in collaboration with the Foundation for a Civil Society and with the support of the New York based Trust for Mutual Understanding. The aim of the OHO Award is to support young visual artists and to take them from a marginal social position to a more central role in society, with an emphasis on a positive context based on openness and creativity.

ADC - Art Directors Club is a non-profit membership organisation with headquarters in New York which has been holding competitions for the best solutions in design and advertising since 1920. This year’s selection is showcased at the 90th ADC exhibition, which is now visiting Slovenia for the third time. At the same time, the 9th ADC Young Guns exhibition is also on show.

Certain discourses tend to dominate in recent exhibitions addressing notions of urbanism and urbanity. Urbanism is often approached as a de facto phenomenon, the contemporary city arising almost spontaneously, approached with the quasi-documentary stance.

The Lifestream project was designed and premiered in 2009 at the Summe (Poletje) exhibition at the Maribor Art Gallery. This is a video installation or a video space – environmentally installed video piece, projected upon unconventional projection surfaces and submerged in an intense lighting environment within a uniform sound ambient, through witch the author reflects her intimate experience of the urban environment, in which she lives.

To commemorate the 75th anniversary of Penguin Books, Penguin's long-time creative director Paul Buckley chose 75 book covers that represent the best of what Penguin has produced over the course of the last decade, and investigated the design process behind each one. The selection was published as Penguin 75: Designers, Authors, Commentary (the good, the bad...), a book that came out in 2010.
