The Lighting Guerrilla international festival, that celebrates its tenth anniversary this year, is dedicated to contemporary visual arts whose main medium of expression is light. In the year when Ljubljana boasts the title of Green Capital of Europe, we’ve chosen the topic of Nature to be the main theme of this year’s edition.

While the Art Directors Club has already closed the call for entries for ADC 94th Annual Awards creative solutions in the fields of advertising, corporate design, graphic design, animation, photography, illustration and interactive design, the 93rd ADC, showcasing last year’s winners of gold and silver awards, is now visiting Ljubljana’s Match Gallery for the fifth consecutive time.

The Academy of Visual Arts in Ljubljana (AVA) is presenting itself with the exhibition of works of the already fifth generation of its graduating students. Graduating from their two degree programs, Conceptualization of Space and Fine Arts, these are the students who have successfully finished their studies in the 2014/15 academic year.

The exhibition "Memories and Dreams of Kristina B. Ljubljana 1941−1945" coincides with the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II, to be celebrated in 2015. It uses the transmission of the comic book medium for a museum exhibition.

Boštjan Pucelj, an established photographer from the younger generation, presents his work with a series of photographs taken from his journey on the traces of Route 66. His path was partially also a homage to Božidar Jakac who travelled the USA in the years 1929–31.

Lighting Guerrilla is one of the most successful projects made by Forum Ljubljana. Over the years it has become a traditional festival, presenting its works in the Match Gallery, its surroundings and other locations in Ljubljana. The leading theme of this years festival is bright future.

The exhibition concerns the unveiling of creative space established between art and technology. As an artist, Marko Batista is difficult to situate within a specific artistic direction for his works are created at the intersection of performative intermedia practices, sound and visual installations, and physical-sensorial experiments.

The project is offering a new, extended perspective on the relationship between the curator and the artist, an experimental form of self-organization and creative process, where each participant has its own critical view on the joint process and proposed solutions, which should endure immediate judgment and responses of other group members.

The exhibitions of Slovenian artist Jaša links Cultural Centre Tobačna 001 and Match Gallery, two exhibition venues of contemporary art of Museum and Galleries of Ljubljana. The "exhibition diptych" is connected in content, but each is still an autonomous, whole exhibition on its own.

The exhibition, where painting is being integrated with photography, the analogue with the digital, and the individual with the collective, is presenting the works of Uroš Abram, Uroš Weinberger, Mark Požlep, Luka Uršič and Miha Štrukelj. In the foreground there is a story, narrated by the arists.

Between language and image, there is neither contradiction nor analogy. That is to say, there is no direct relation between them, there is only ambiguity, e.g. obscurity being expressed, hinting at the inability to express a direct translation between the two. Any translation would only discuss another matter, one that the language or the image wish to represent; it would address the numerous levels of social phenomena that are mainly expressed as absurd, nonsensical, humorous, playful, bitter, gruesome or romantic witticisms about life.
